Where does our food come from?

It can be extremely painful to become aware of the connection between the meat on our plates and the animals who gave their lives to create it, and it can be especially painful to think about what those animals went through on their way to becoming food, but that information is important. It will not only help us make and sustain better choices about what we eat but will also, in the final analysis, make us more humane, more fully human. By engaging in the question of where our food comes from, we will be more actively participating in our own lives and in the meaning of our choices, and our lives will be enriched.
